I unpacked some power tools today. I have to cut big old cement pavers that I'm using to frame a flower bed around the base of my 80-foot palm tree. SO, searching around my garage work bench I found the power tool that seems just right for the job. it's called a "RotoZip" and it's like a router that you can use in conjunction with special attachments to cut through most man made objects or natural objects like stones (just in case you ever have the need to cut up stones).
So, out comes the RotoZip and in goes the diamond encrusted bit. I flick the machine on and it instantly winds up to about 20,000 RPM. "Be afraid, very afraid," I think. Hell, I take enough blood thiner everyday to kill all the rats in Hamlin, so I'm very cautious with this tool. But Voila!, just like on TV, I soon have perfectly cut pavers that fit together like an Inca wall, with almost no space between the blocks.
The blood dripping from the scratches in my arm caused by flying particles of cement bricks seem worthwhile.
Oh in the spirit of full disclosure and to answer any lingering questions you may have about blood thinner medication. The drug I take is Warfin sodium-- which in case you don't know, was developed by the University ofWisconsin as a rodent poison. I take up to four milligrams of rat poison a day, so I'm somewhat cautious with high speed power tools that have sharp bits. I've already given up one hobby --making stone age tools from obsidian --volcanic glass-- and Flint, because after two hours of napping stone tools, I looked like I had been butchered.
There, that breaks my writer's block for the a cold rainy day.--Jim Forbes on 03/21/2--7.
